About the role

HenderCare is seeking dedicated Support Workers to join our team in the southern suburbs and provide essential support to our diverse client base, including service recipients in Aged Care and Disability. Assist our clients in maintaining their independence within the comfort of their own homes.

 

As a casual Support Worker, you'll cater to diverse clients, addressing their unique needs and fostering a strong sense of community. Embrace flexibility with predominantly 2-hour shifts (ranging 2-4 hours). Ideal candidates excel in handling multiple shorter shifts, ensuring consistent opportunities to make a meaningful impact on the lives we support.

Duties include:

  • Personal hygiene support such as showering, grooming, dressing, bowel care, etc.
  • Daily living tasks such as meal preparation, assistance with feeding, light domestic duties, etc.
  • Support mobility and person transfers 
  • Assist or administer medication
  • Facilitate community outings (taking client to appointments, shops, etc.)
  • Promote and encourage independence
  • Support and manage challenging behaviours 
  • Maintain accurate documentation
  • Engage in ongoing training essential to your role 

 

Our ideal candidate

We are looking for someone with a caring nature and attributes such as encouragement, attentiveness, adaptability, excellent communication, and strong time management skills. Approaching people empathetically, you will be someone who is understanding and patient towards the needs of others, and passionate about making a difference in people’s lives. 

You will have:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent/higher)
  • National Police Clearance (or willing to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Check (or willing to obtain) 
  • Working With Children Check (or willing to obtain) 
  • Current certification in First Aid, CPR, and Manual Handling
  • Driver's license and access to your own vehicle
