HenderCare Foundation is looking for a Rostering Coordinator to join our Children’s Services team, supporting the delivery of residential and out-of-home care services.

This is a hands-on rostering and shift-filling role where no two days are the same. A key part of your day will involve reviewing roster vacancies, contacting available Youth Workers, responding to sick calls and last-minute changes, and finding the right person to safely cover each shift.

Take your next step with HenderCare Foundation.

About the Role

As a Rostering Coordinator, you’ll work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, proactively coordinating our Children’s Services workforce to meet the needs of residential care services.

You’ll manage a high-volume roster, respond to vacancies and unplanned staffing changes, and work closely with operational teams to ensure every shift is appropriately covered and every young person receives the care they deserve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively fill vacant AM, PM, overnight and weekend shifts across Children’s Services.

  • Review upcoming rosters and identify staffing gaps requiring coverage.

  • Respond quickly to sick calls, cancellations and last-minute staffing changes.

  • Match Youth Workers to placements based on their skills, qualifications, experience and the needs of the young person.

  • Provide Youth Workers with accurate and timely information about their shifts and service bookings.

  • Maintain accurate roster and booking information across HenderCare systems.

  • Work closely with operational teams to prioritise urgent and critical staffing requirements.

  • Escalate staffing and service delivery issues where required.

As HenderCare operates 24/7, this role will require availability across a rotating schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Our Ideal Candidate

You’re an experienced rostering or scheduling professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly.

You’ll be confident communicating with a diverse workforce, comfortable making decisions under pressure and persistent in finding solutions to staffing challenges.

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Previous experience in high-volume rostering, scheduling or workforce allocation, ideally within residential care, child protection, disability, healthcare, aged care or labour hire.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • Confidence working across multiple systems and maintaining accurate records.

  • A proactive, flexible and solutions-focused approach.

  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team.

  • A genuine commitment to supporting positive outcomes for children and young people.

Only applicants with the right to work in Australia will be considered. Successful candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment checks.
