About the Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Corporate Accountant will be vital to the financial administration and reporting of HenderCare to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and accounting standards. In this role you will manage the month end reporting processes and ensure the accuracy of balance sheets and contribute to the annual budget and forcasting process.
You're duties will also include:
- Oversee the weekly payroll journals and associated reconciliations and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual returns as required for BAS, Payroll Tax, Workcover and other requirements, including accruals and reconciliations.
- Oversee the preparation of statutory and regulatory returns, including Portable Long Service Leave, Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) submissions.
- Ensure process integrity and a quality control environment are in place throughout all relevant systems and processes.
- Identify issues and assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies and practises.
- Provide information as requested by the Finance Manager or external auditors to assist with the preparation and audit of HenderCare’s end-of-year financial statements.
- Prepare management and board reports and provide continuous improvement and system integration as required.
Our Ideal Candidate
You’re an experienced Corporate Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced environment with experience in financial reporting and a strong foundation in accounting principles.
You must hold:

A relevant qualification in Finance or Accounting

Eligibility for membership of CA or CPA
You will also bring:
- Sound knowledge of accounting standards
- High level of competency with Microsoft Excel and proficient across Microsoft Office 365 systems
- Demonstrated well-developed time management skills and the ability to easily manage diverse and competing priorities to deliver outcomes on time
- Attention to detail and strong IT literacy
- Demonstrated high-level oral communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholder
- Staff supervision experience (desireable)
