At HenderCare, our allied health clinicians play a vital role in delivering early intervention and ongoing support for children and young people. Due to significant organisational growth, we’re seeking an experienced Senior Speech Pathologist to join our paediatrics team to help mentor and support our current clinicians whilst also managing your own caseload.

About the Role

As the Senior Speech Pathologist, you will play a key role in the delivery of quality, coordinated, efficient and evidence-based services to our participants of the NDIS and disability clients specialising in children and young people under the auspice of other funding arrangements.


Your responsibilities also include:
 

  • Managing a clinical caseload (inclusive of children with complex needs) independently with a high standard of clinical practice.
  • Undertaking Speech Pathology evaluations, provide training, strategies and recommendations that impact positively on a child’s play, engagement, function, safety and participation in their daily activities.
  • Consulting and collaborating with families, other health professionals, and service providers involved in the child’s care in a sensitive, open, and timely manner.
  • Actively participate in supervision processes as arranged, which includes participation in HenderCare’s performance review process.
  • Provide supervision, mentorship and support to other Speech Pathologists or allied health members within HenderCare’s Allied Health team.
  • Participate in quality improvement, research and service development programs and projects as required.

Our ideal candidate will bring:
 

  • Sound experiences in Speech Pathology services, functioning at a high level with independence.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of a broad variety of disabilities for children
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology.
  • SPA membership (essential)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, families, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills, exercise initiative and manage competing priorities
  • Hold a full driver’s licence
