Occupational Therapists are critical to the Allied Health services we provide here at HenderCare and we currently have multiple opportunities for engaged, motivated and client centred Occupational Therapists to join our team. We are looking for new staff members who specialise with adults and can bring initiative and new ideas to our team.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with members of the community with varying disabilities. You will ensure our clients are provided high-quality support services and therapeutic care informed by evidence-based research

About the Role

As well as providing services to NDIS participants, our referral base includes the provision of services to participants of the Lifetime Support Authority (LSA), the Disability Support for Older Australians Program (DSOA), and Home Care Package recipients.

There is diversity in the range of referrals that we receive, and no two days will be the same as you provide mobile community care to clients across Perth undertaking assessments, making recommendations, and implementing therapy programs for a purely adults' caseload. You will be responsible for delivering evidence-based services to help clients achieve their goals and get back to doing things that matter to them.

In this role you will also be responsible for:

  • Independently manage a clinical caseload, including clients with complex needs, while maintaining high standards of clinical practice.
  • Conduct comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments, interventions, and evaluations, providing effective strategies and recommendations to enhance client function, safety, and participation in daily activities.
  • Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team, working closely with families, health professionals, and service providers to ensure holistic care.
  • Assess and prescribe assistive technology and home modifications that support people with disabilities in safely engaging in their daily occupations.
  • Ensure timely response to referrals, maintain accurate records, and meet service delivery targets in line with HenderCare's policies and standards.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives, service development projects, and continuous improvement activities to enhance service delivery outcomes.

Why Choose HenderCare?

  • Tailored Caseloads: You have the flexibility to work with children, adults, or both—it's your choice! We support individuals of all ages in improving quality of life and reducing the use of restrictive practices. We are here to help you develop your skills in these areas or to support your ongoing professional growth in your areas of passion and expertise.
  • Community based services: We are committed to delivering functional and meaningful behaviour support and intervention in the environments that matter most to our participants. Whether at home, childcare, school, work, day programs, or out in the community, we meet our clients where they are—supporting them in the activities and settings that are most relevant to their daily lives.
  • Professional Growth: Ongoing training, mentoring, and career development opportunities. Professional development allowance of up to $1000 p.a. and up to 3 days professional development leave. We are committed to delivering evidence-based, high-quality care aligned with your clinical strengths and passions.
  • Benefits: Competitive salary, employee benefits and perks scheme (health, fitness, retail, and more), paid on-site car parking in the CBD, laptop, and fleet car usage.
